Cisco’s sales & service team needed a better way to track and manage client networking rollouts, so they turned to Somnio for a solution.

New ways to measure progress

The team relied on a large, complex spreadsheet to measure progress, capture input, and record outcomes for customer and prospect proof-of-concept implementations. Besides being unwieldy, this process also created a bottleneck held by the document’s owner. Knowing there was a better way, we designed an interactive application for both staff and clients to digitally engage with project milestones.

Bespoke engagements for each client

The actual rollout process changed frequently, and often had to be customized for individual customer needs; that meant the tool also needed some level of content management to enable this flexibility.

A source of truth for sales pursuits

In addition to tracking pilot progress, the application also served as a useful repository for collecting documents, requirements, and preferences. And Cisco’s team could use it as a people directory, and to generate sales reports based on activity.

Automating and augmenting prospect engagement

Cisco’s Pilot Management app provided the sales team with greater visibility, insight, and collaboration across the proof-of-concept implementation process, and removed barriers and frictions from record-keeping.
