A company that needs no introduction, Salesforce is the leading platform for managing customer relationships across sales, marketing, service, and support. Though the products continue to expand and mature, the dotcom face of the brand required a reimagining; they turned to argodesign for help defining and illustrating a vision and strategy to align and refresh their web properties and to launch a more integrated & synergistic experience across the customer journey.

An array of destinations

Lesser known than its core products, Salesforce.com is host to an array of content, including thought leadership, learning & certifications, and  communities & events. It also supports robust developer resources and a 3rd-party marketplace for apps, addons, and professional services. These properties play a critical role in the company’s continued growth as it leverages its leadership position to retain accounts and grow platform usage.

Reflecting the core brand value

We developed a tiered, systemic approach to rollout this initiative — beginning with standardization before moving into contextualization and personalization. The resulting redesign including a complete rethinking of how content and interactions manifested throughout each of the major properties, and more importantly how we dynamically composed the right elements for each visitor based on their journey and needs.

Though ubiquitous throughout the vision, the impact of this strategy can best be visualized through a redesigned homepage with over 7 billion unique permutations custom-crafted for each visitor.

The resulting strategy and designs provided Salesforce with a comprehensive roadmap and playbook for achieving its ambitious vision over the next 5 years, and promised to uniquely position the brand not only as a business ops tool, but as a premier destination for community, professional development, and thought leadership across industries.
